When Heartsong would provide 57 in combat mp5. For a disc priest, with 4k intellect and 3,25k spirit, this would end up providing at least 79 in combat mp5. If Rapture was used every time it is available, it would give 45 mp5.
The list can be long and I will not go in the details of other mana-based regen abilities. Replenishment would give a 37,5 additional mp5 when the proc is up, for an average of 9 mp5. These calculations are for "mp5" regen only. If Int = 5000, it averages at 35 mp5.Īt Spi = 3250, if Int = 3000, 24% uptime of 500 intellect averages 58 mp5. I will use 2 sets of fixed values, one of Spirit = 2500 and one of Spirit = 3250.Īt Spi = 2500, if Int = 3000, 24% uptime of 500 intellect averages 45 mp5. We therefore need to use fixed spirit and fixed intellect values to properly evaluate intellect regen. So for a more precise exercise it is necessary to average the total intellect and multiply by the uptime rather than use an average intellect calculation. Intellect being a root square in the regen equation, its scaling decreases with a fixed amount of spirit. It is not linear but is nearly linear.ġ20 intellect average. So here is how I would analyze regen from both procs.ġ08 spirit average, with about 4000 intellect gives a "steady" 114 mp5. Which is the formula used to calculate out of combat regen.
Spirit and Intellect interact with each other for how to calculate regen. Intellect cannot be considered a purely throughput stat, since lots of buffs procure mana based regen (Replenishment, Hymn of Hope, Shadowfiend, Rapture, etc) and Intellect interacts directly with how mp5 is calculated. It can be nuanced as with knowing if a multi-cast spell can have multiple chance of proccing the enchants or if HoTs proc them. I agree with you entirely on the way you calculated uptime of procs.
Unlike Power Torrent, you get the full benefit of the spirit gained during combat. Roughly 28 sec between procs, lasts 15 seconds, means ~54% uptime, or 108 spirit. Factor in that you do not get the benefit of using 7500 extra mana during the procs, and this is weaker than that.Ģ0 sec ICD, 25% proc chance. Roughly 51 seconds between procs, lasts 12 seconds, means ~24% uptime, or 120 intellect.
I'd say that even at this worst case scenario, Power Torrent beats Heartsong for resto druids.Įdit: Updated with more accurate formulas (based on other posts here) and using worst case assumptions.Ĥ5 sec ICD, 33% proc chance.
(Add another 2.2 MP5 for every point in Furor) (Add another 5 MP5 for every point in Furor)ĥ8.5 MP5 (47 MP5 for you + 11.5 MP5 for another healer)
Timing your Innervate with the proc: 584*15*0.1/(3*60)*5 MP5 = ~24.5 MP5 + ~49 MP5 for another healer (assuming Glyph of Innervate) Using the uptimes found by skribs estimated gains from Heartsong vs. A druid will likely have more spi and less int than this. Comment by 580021We can calculate a worst case scenario for Power Torrent (and optimal for Heartsong) by assuming ~6000 int and ~2000 spi.
